“Bullets Over Broadway” (April – May 2016)

“Bullets Over Broadway” takes theater-goers behind the scenes of musical theater, offering up countless laughs along the way. Written by Woody Allen and based on the 1994 film, “Bullets on Broadway” features music from the roaring 20s and memorable characters. The show runs from April 19 to May 1 at The PrivateBank Theatre (formerly Bank of America Theatre).

“The Sound of Music” (June 2016)

It’s been more than 50 years since the film version of “The Sound of Music” was released, and now the hills are alive again with a new production of the 1959 musical. Running June 7 to June 19 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, “The Sound of Music” will transport attendees back into the world of Maria and the von Trapp family.

“The SpongeBob Musical” (June – July 2016)

The lovable character who lives in a pineapple under the sea, SpongeBob SquarePants, will delight theater-goers June 7 to July 3 in the world premiere of “The SpongeBob Musical” at the Oriental Theatre. The show, produced by Nickelodeon, features original songs from music industry greats like Steven Tyler, John Legend, David Bowie and more.

“The Book of Mormon” (June – August 2016)

You’ll want to leave the kids behind for an 18-plus showing of the smash hit Broadway show, “The Book of Mormon.” Delightfully irreverent and downright hilarious, the show returns to Chicago from June 29 to August 14 at The PrivateBank Theatre. Get your tickets fast – the show played to more than 100 percent capacity during its last two runs in Chicago in 2012 and 2015.
