Oaktoberfest takes your traditional Oktoberfest to the next level! This free two-day event on Friday, September 18th and Saturday, September 19th offers a premier music lineup featuring local and national artists, a Kids’ Root Beer Garden, and microbrew, wine and ethnic food offerings!
This event is located in Downtown Oak Park at Marion Street and North Boulevard (south of Lake Street) just off the CTA Green Line “L” Westbound “Harlem/Lake” stop or the Metra Union Pacific West Line “Oak Park” stop. For parking information visit oaktoberfest.net.
Oaktoberfest kicks off Friday night at 4:30PM with live music by Antony + the Tramps (American Gypsy) and Tall Walker (Rock, Indie, Pop). Headliner Holly Williams (Americana) hits the stage at 8:30PM. Saturday’s music line-up features headliner Uncle Lucius (Americana Roots Rock) at 8:30PM along with Lili K. at 6:30PM (Soul, Jazz), Seabird at 4:30PM (Rock, Alternative) and Cardinal Harbor at 2:30PM (Rock).
Downtown Oak Park restaurants will line North Boulevard offering a variety of seasonal menu options to enjoy, while those over 21 can purchase a 22 ounce Oaktoberfest souvenir mug + 3 drink tickets for $20 and choose from microbrews or wine. The Sugar Beet Schoolhouse (Friday night) and Huskie Wrestling Family (Saturday) will provide volunteers to work the beer/wine tents collecting tips to support their non-profit organizations.
The Kids’ Root Beer Garden located on Marion Street on Saturday from 12-5PM offers kids the chance to create and race their own zucchini cars. The Root Beer Garden will also feature a ninja obstacle course, root beer floats, and games and activities sponsored by local organizations including Wonder Works Children’s Museum, Oak Park Public Library, Magical Minds, The Little Bits Workshop, Lil Kickers, Mathnasium of Oak Park River Forest, Success for all Youth, Sugar Beet Co-op, Little Huskie’s Wrestling Club, Trader Joe’s and more!
