The Chicago Water Taxi operates on a closed-loop route on the Chicago River from March to December. Its routes operate between Chinatown and Madison Street, La Salle Street and Michigan Avenue, as well as to North Avenue. While it may not be the most efficient way to get around downtown, it’s certainly the most visually appealing, offering riders breathtaking views of the Chicago skyline.
During the summer season, departures and arrivals are scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:45 a.m. to 9 p.m., weekends from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and on Saturday nights until 11 p.m. for Navy Pier fireworks. Riders can purchase one-way passes starting at $3, or all-day passes starting at $8.
